letstryagain: (wait what)

Daisy's stopped just as short as he is, almost to the point of causing a six-trolley pile-up. As it stands, there's only one that needs righting and it's hers. And Jareth is, as he should be, quite pissed at suddenly having his cage sideways on the floor. She's quick to pick her things up and as she does so, she can't really stop herself from looking at Declan. Really looking. Up until the end of the school year, she and he were the same height, give or take a bit. But now? Now, he was all legs and arms. He was different. She was aware she was, too. Going bra shopping while her cousins were around wasn't the most fun she'd ever had.

But Declan now towered over her and it was weird. Not bad weird. Just new.

"How horrible was what?" she asks, hoping to break the strange silence between them. They didn't do silence. Not the first day reunited. They did babbling and silliness and rehashing of all the new in jokes that came about during the break.

This silence was stuffed with something new that she couldn't place a finger on.
