He bumps her legs. "Stop glarin' yeah? We gotta win the cup this year." He's bound to beat the Slytherins. Because screw those guys. Seriously.
He takes a Three Musketeers from her stash of candy and opens it slowly. "Dunno." He says, honestly. "But it's almost like he's too good yeah? Too good to be true, and Mum deserves the best." It had been hard growing up with a single mother. He knows that she's been out on dates before, just none of the others had stuck around when they'd been confronted with four rowdy boys. This guy not only sticks around, but he doesn't question when she explains that Dec's going to a private school in Scotland, because of his father.
"It's just weird?" He's not sure how to explain it. "There've been a few guys, but they all ran when Mike got uppity with them, or Jer and Dan started pulling that 'guess which one I am' crap." Jer and Dan being identical twins and all. "But he's sticking around, and I don't want Mum to get her heart broken."
